This last room is from a past Charleston Symphony Orchestra Designer Showhouse designed by a good friend of mine, Lauren Muzekari Lennon, with Morris Muzekari Interior Design. She is crazy talented, go check out her website and see for yourself! The 2010 Showhouse opens this week and runs March 18th-April 18 and you can get tickets here.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

You Go Girl!

Suzanne Kasler...

I want to be you when I grow up. What's that? I am a grown up. Dangit, I need to get busy.

These are images of a house she designed using only Ballard products. I think she nailed it. Nailed it! Ok, so she has designed four collections for the company so it was probably easy for her to find items she wanted to use BUT despite that, I still think she has managed to put her own design aesthetic into each of these rooms. AND it proves that you don't have to have a lot of money to have good design. Just good taste. Can I get an amen?

I dig this quote of hers:
"If you bring in a few contemporary pieces and put them next to your antiques, it makes the things that are crusty and old look even more special."

For more of her House Beautiful interview look here.

So it seems I have a slight obsession with design books. So much so in fact, that I decided I needed to purge! Hence the mass amount of posts over at Objects offering these great books to you for a steal. Some are priced as a set but most are priced individually however if you purchase more than one, you get 25% off of your pre-shipping total so start shopping!

INTERIORS: Country Parsonage with a bit of quirk!

This lovely home,  owned by stylist Laura Campbell & her husband Adam Hall  is amazingly cosy, quirkly, lovely and down right urban smash country!

Sweet country kitchen with lovely urban details, the light fixtures and the black framed clock. Love the dainty floral.

This room is just perfectly blended: Antique crystal chandeliers and the sheep skin draped chairs which are vintage Castelli  DSC 106 Chairs, Haworth.
And the living room is just gorgeous with the gray sofa, simple Bertoia chair from Knoll, the reflective wall covering, Osborne & Little.

The unexpected pops of magenta!  Throughout

Adam's office is perfect! Love that desk, the Bertoia chair and that MAP!!
Then when I saw this fireplace with the shelves installed!!
LOVE!!!! my mind was going crazy... I need to find a vintage fireplace surround like this and install shelving so I have place pretty objects, books with gilded edges SO I CAN FLIP MY BOOKS, similar to Kristen at simplygrove watch the video of her husband, *giggle* to the response of mean people) I LOVE THIS IDEA!
or add fairy lights or batter operated candles.

This pretty mirror!

This room with the large stencil flower above the headboard and the billowy floral drapery adds a bit of red drama, which I am gushing over! Also look at that magnificent plaid blanket eeeeeee, happy to cuddle with the sweet pretty thing!
and this wonderful playroom! The exposed brick painted white and the loft hide away!
Now this gorgeously painted wall in Midnight blue is perfect with the black framed photos!! Love how they just pop on the wall!

This house is fun, quirky, a fabulous mix of rustic and modern. With each room a different colour with elements of surprise.
What do you love about this house?

Actually, I prefer two. And matching.

I adore these open nightstands. But warning, they are not for you dirty folks! Yeah, you. The one that only read this post because of the title.

Any of you designers have the source for these tables? If so, please let me know. I have the hardest time finding ones I like for clients.

Home Magazine

You can tell when I am tired...my posts are about beds in some way shape or form. Today I am dreaming of hiding out in one of these bad boys. Don't they look cozy? I would like to say I would curl up with a good book but honestly, here is The Situation, I just want to sleep. Or perhaps have a fully loaded DVR filled with all my favorite mindless trash television (like Jersey Shore perhaps). Kinda reminds me of my freshman year dorm room when I had that loft built so I could put a futon in underneath. Nice. Makes you want to fist pump doesn't it?

Hmmm....

See, everyone's doing it!

Even this A-Hole.

Mother Shuckers!

When I was a kid I remember being at dinner on a family vacation and saying that when I grow up I want to own a restaurant called "Mother Shuckers." My brother almost spit out his she crab soup laughing, my dad beamed with pride while my mom rolled her eyes in embarrassment. Sorry mom! Oyster roasts are common events in Charleston and as much as I love eating them, I also like using them in decor (cleaned up of course). I am all about the R, R, R!

Then the oyster sticks started popping up all over market. These are the pieces of wood in which oyster shells have once been attached. What do you think? I kinda like it but I am biased as I like anything coastal.
